Sunday night at church I was bouncing this little rubber gumball machine ball with some of the little kids at the church. They would bounce it and it was moving so fast, yet I was able to catch it. These kids were amazed about how I was able to catch this little ball even though it was moving incredibly fast. One of the kids in the group looked at me and said “wow how are you doing that! You’re almost as good at catching as my dad!” Being good friends with this girl’s father I joked with her and said “Almost as good as your dad!?!? Are you sure? I think I might be better than him.” Immediately this little girl went from look of amazement and laughter to a serious and defensive look as she began to shake her head back and forth and preceded to tell me “No my dad is the best!” She was confident that her father was the best catcher in the world. She was confident in her father's ability’s.
As I’m praying before bed that night God brought this event to mind. God asked me:” Are you confident in me? Are confident in my ability’s? Are you confident that my words are true and that I am your Father and I will take care of you??”
I ask each and every one of you are you confident in God? Proverbs 14:26 says: In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
Are you confident in His ability’s? Are you confident that his words are true and that He is our Father, and He will take care of you?
